Run a node on a server
Choose CLI or Docker for a machine without a desktop interface.
Use CLI or Docker to run AntGain on a server or another machine without a desktop interface.
Choose an installation
- CLI installation works directly in your terminal.
- Docker installation uses a container and a persistent data volume.
- Linux, Linux ARM, and macOS CLI explain how to choose a compatible package.
Use your account API key from Account Settings. Keep it in a private environment file or enter it using the method in the CLI guide.
Check the node
For CLI:
antgain health
antgain logs -n 100For the container named in the Docker guide:
docker exec antgain-node antgain health
docker logs --tail 100 antgain-nodeCheck your Dashboard for the node's account activity. A running process or container does not always mean the node is connected.
Keep settings across updates
Keep the same data directory or Docker volume. Give each simultaneously running node its own directory or volume. Store API keys privately and avoid putting them in shared container images or public configuration files.
Docker allows automatic updates inside the container. Read Docker updates before choosing how to manage versions.
Stop sharing
Use antgain stop for a background CLI node, or docker stop antgain-node for the Docker example. Stop preserves saved data. Removing the data directory or volume can remove credentials and device information.
