Desktop client
Install AntGain, authorize your account, and use the 1.1.4 tray controls.
Install
- Open the official download page and choose the package for your operating system and architecture.
- Install using the package and your operating system's normal prompts.
- Open AntGain. On macOS it appears in the menu bar; on Windows and Linux look in the system tray.
If your operating system blocks a package, confirm that you downloaded it from AntGain and follow the installation instructions before changing security settings.
First sign-in and later launches
The first sign-in opens AntGain's authorization page in your browser. Complete sign-in and return to the app. Once the client obtains and saves your API key, it uses that key for subsequent launches rather than asking you to repeat browser authorization.
A temporary network failure does not by itself mean you should log out or delete configuration. Check your connection and retry first. A revoked or invalid key requires valid account credentials.
Account → Logout stops the node and clears the saved API key. The next sign-in uses browser authorization again. Stopping the node or quitting the app does not clear the key.
Switch accounts
Choose Account → Logout, then sign in to the account you want to use. Wait for the node to connect. If it continues to report that the device belongs to another account, keep your local data and contact support. Activity and earnings already recorded on the previous account stay there.
Tray menu
The first row shows a status indicator and a description. Use the text as well as the color to understand the state.
| Status | Meaning / action |
|---|---|
| Online | The node is connected and available. View traffic and earnings in the dashboard. |
| Connecting / Reconnecting | A connection is being established or recovered. Check connectivity if this persists. |
| Connection suspended | The node cannot connect at the moment. It will retry automatically; check the reason if this persists. |
| Registration blocked | Registration was rejected. Read the error and correct credentials or configuration as indicated. |
| Stopped / Stopping | The local node is stopped or is completing a stop. |
| Not signed in | Complete sign-in to start a node. |
Menu actions:
- Open Dashboard: open the signed-in website to view your nodes, bandwidth, and earnings.
- Account: view the account email and use Logout.
- Start Node / Stop Node: start or stop sharing.
- Restart Node: restart an active node when available. It is disabled during suspended, blocked, or stopping states.
- User Guide: open this guide.
- AntGain not working?: open troubleshooting, open the log folder, or copy diagnostic information.
- Check for Updates…: check for a newer version of the app.
- Quit AntGain: stop and exit the app.
Earnings, bandwidth totals, and public IP are not displayed in the tray. Use the dashboard for account and node details.
Configuration and logs
Desktop configuration is stored at ~/.antgain/config.json on macOS/Linux and %USERPROFILE%\.antgain\config.json on Windows. The default log folder is logs inside that directory. AntGain not working? → Open Logs opens it without requiring you to find the path manually.
Version 1.1.4 protects the contents of the local configuration file. Keep the directory when upgrading, and do not edit or share the configuration file. If it fails to load, keep it and contact support. Older app versions may not support newer configuration.
Local protection does not make a file safe to share or replace the security of your device. See Safety & Privacy.
Troubleshooting
Sign-in completes but the node is suspended
Signing in can complete before the node connects. Check the status and error message. If the issue continues after an account switch, copy diagnostics and contact support. Keep your local data rather than repeatedly deleting configuration.
Authorization does not complete
Confirm that the browser and app are on the same computer and can access AntGain. Finish the latest authorization attempt; starting another attempt can invalidate the previous one. Check whether local security software prevents the browser from returning to the app. Do not share the full sign-in URL.
The node stays offline
Check ordinary internet connectivity, the status text, and the corresponding error. VPNs, firewalls, and network policies can affect outbound connections. Do not broadly disable security controls or open inbound ports as a first step. A stopped node needs Start Node; a suspended node will retry automatically.
Report a problem
Start with AntGain not working? → Copy Diagnostics for basic app and connection information. If you share a screenshot or log excerpt with support@antgain.app, remove login details and personal information first. Do not send the configuration file or a full log folder.
